Rain has Ended and We are Headed to Huntsville (9/28/2018)

We loved our stay at Goose Pond Marina, but after 6 days there, we were ready to get moving again.  The rain has finally moved past us and we are heading to Ditto Landing Marina in Huntsville, AL.  With over 4" of rain the last few days we were confident the river would be high and debris would be plentiful in the water.  That was an understatement.  Within about 2 hours, we reach Guntersville Lock.  The current was excessive and the Dam was releasing 120,000 cubic feet of water per second.  It's a good thing we were going with the current and not against it as we were floating at about 5mph.

We arrive at Ditto Landing Marina in Huntsville about 3:45PM.  As we approach the marina, we see the walkways and some of the parking lot is flooding from all the rain as they had about 6" of rain in the Huntsville area.

This marina has the most beautiful sunsets.  This one is tucked between the bridge on Hwy 231.  Sweet sunset picture!!

This is the same sunset just a few minutes later and at the Marina building.  Looks like the Alamo in San Antonio, TX!!!

We always enjoy our stop-over in Huntsville.  The marina staff is so great and we enjoy talking with them.

Love my Captain.....Love Cloud Nine.
